Simple House Illustration (Commission)

An illustration for a private memorial service pamphlet. I was attempting a simplistic, child-like style while still trying to look professional. Not as simple as it sounds. And I can still hear my design professor yelling at me for drawing such a cliche house and little circle trees--but it suited the client's needs, and he was very pleased with the result.

The finishing grunge-type look was inspired by and , whose styles I'm kind of obsessed with right now. 

Photoshop CS5 w/Intuos5, 3 hours, referenced the work of artists mentioned above.
